Barnabás Somogyi Wins 12th International Telemann Competition

The violin student of Eszter Perényi from the Preparatory Class of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music won first prize at the 12th International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition, which took place on 28-30 March 2015 in Poznań. He performed Telemann’s Fantasy No. 7 in E-flat major, Carmen Fantasie Brillante by Jenő Hubay and the first movement of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor.

Two other students of the Preparatory Class have also achieved success in Poznań. Eszter Gaál (teacher: István Kertész) won 5th place, while Zoltán Schwartz (teachers: Márta Ábrahám and Eszter Perényi) took 6th place in the 3-day contest.
