Central European Electro-Acoustic Music Workshop

27 November 2014

The joint project of the Krakow Music Academy and the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music involving composition as well as electro-acoustic music and media art students and professors concludes with a concert on 30 November in Room XXIII of Liszt Academy’s main building.

The objective of the Central European electro-acoustic music workshop is to create and perform works composed for acoustic instruments and interactive computer music systems. In the first stage of the cooperation, the students of the two institutions participated in a joint composition workshop and seminar in Krakow, where they explored the manifold possibilities of electronically modifying acoustic sounds and controlling digital music material with the involvment of instrumental players of the Krakow Academy of Music. The workshop ended with a concert given at the AudioArt Festival of Krakow on 23 November 2014.

With the completion of the Krakow project, the concert program will also be performed at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. In the second, shorter stage of the cooperation to take place in Budapest, the Polish composers and instrumental performers will discuss and, if necessary, revise and rehearse again the compositions together with the Hungarian participants. The works created in the framework of the project will be presented to the wider public in a gala concert to be given on 30 November 2014 in Room XXII of Liszt Academy's main building. The concert program and further details can be viewed by following the link above.

The concert was realized as part of the Central European Electro-acoustic Workstations project, and with support of the Hungarian-Polish Non-Governmental Cooperation Program.
