Miho Morimoto is winner of the 2014 Yamaha Scholarship

23 February 2014

This year students specializing in piano at the Liszt Academy could apply for the annual scholarship announced by Yamaha Music Europe GmbH.

Traditionally, from Hungary students of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music can participate in the programme, and the very best from among of cream of the students of the Piano Department is selected for the scholarship at a competition. The unique feature of this year's competition is that Yamaha Music Europe GmbH placed a brand-new Yamaha CFX concert piano at the disposal of the Liszt Academy for four months.

This is the instrument on which students applying for the scholarship displayed all their skills, and it is also the piano that Chick Corea will use at his concert here on 13 May 2014. Nine students (Thiago Augusto, Bertoldi Lima, Domonkos Csabay, György Hodozsó, Panni Hotzi, Renáta Konyicska, Kinga Krizsán, Miho Morimoto, Llorenz Prats Bosca, and Ronald Rigó) were at the competition staged on 21 February 2014. The jury made up of professors of piano at the Liszt Academy and headed by President of the Academy Dr. Andrea Vigh awarded the Yamaha GmbH Scholarship to Miho Morimoto, who is a first year MA student of the Liszt Academy (teachers: Sándor Falvai and Balázs Réti).

Congratulations!
