Riccardo Muti Conducts the New Liszt Ferenc Chamber Choir

The chorus primarily made up of current students and recent graduates of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music participated in a performance of Verdi’s Requiem.
The open-air concert marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War I was organized on 6 July 2014 in Redipuglia, site of a monument to WWI soldiers in northeastern Italy. The Presidents of Italy, Slovenia and Croatia were among those attending the performance. The concert, a co-production of the Ravenna Festival and Mittelfest 2014, featured choirs from Slovenia, Italy and Croatia along with two youth choirs, who were performing with musicians from leading symphonic orchestras of nations involved in World War I.
