Successes of our students at the 11th National Dohnányi Chamber Music Competition

The Attitude Quartet received the outstanding award for excellence and special prize of the rector, and a further four chamber formations received awards for excellence at the competition organized in Debrecen between 7-9 March 2014.

During the three-day meeting a total 27 chamber groups from the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, the Béla Bartók Institute of Music of Miskolc University, the Tibor Varga Institute of Music of István Széchenyi University, Győr, the Szeged University of Science's Faculty of Music, and the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music competed against each other. From among the eight ensembles representing the Academy of Music an outstanding award for excellence and special prize of the rector went to Attitude Quartet comprising Sára Deák (first violin), Anna Rovó (second violin), Tamás Szabó (viola), and Ramóna Rádli (cello); they played excerpts from Bartók's string quartet No. 1. Awards of excellence were presented to the trio of Boglárka György (violin), Teodóra Nagy (viola) and Hashimoto Atsushi (cello), Alexandra Enikő Kiss (viola) and Amano Seri (piano), as well as the violin-piano duos of Eszter Osztrosits with Imre Dani, and Éva Osztrosits with Barnabás Kérges. Teachers: Sándor Devich, János Devich, Márta Gulyás, Rita Wagner and Balázs Fülei.
