Apply for EUYO European Union Youth Orchestra (Grafenegg)
Date: 24 July - 9 August 2015
Venue: European Music Campus, Grafenegg, Austria
After the great success of last year’s edition, the application to the 2015 European Union Youth Orchestra campus is now open. The European Music Campus is a centre for Europe’s talented young musicians. The Campus, centred on the residency of the European Union Youth Orchestra at Grafenegg, lies at the heart of Europe an hour from Vienna, in the idyllic grounds and preeminent performance spaces of Grafenegg. During the programme the Campus Orchestra members will rehearse under the expert tuition from EUYO tutors, including Rehearsal Director Peter Stark, alumni of the Orchestra and conductor Xian Zhang to prepare repertoire including Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and Tchaikovsky’s String Serenade for a public performance on 8 August. Campus orchestra members may also have an opportunity for some individual tuition, and are encouraged to bring with them chamber music – particularly that from their own country and tradition – to rehearse, play informally and possibly also to perform in ‘pop-up’ concerts taking place in Vienna, Krems and other surrounding towns.
