1st Béla Kovács International Clarinet Competition Results Announced

The competition organized between 7th and 11th October in honor of clarinetist Béla Kocács, Professor Emeritus at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music brought success to several Liszt Academy students.

The first prize was a draw between Damien Bachmann and Mikhail Mering, and the third place was taken by Matteo Tartaglia.

The recipient of the special award of the Csabagyöngye Cultural Center was Francisco José Vial Prado, the contestant coming from the most distant country.

Two students of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Levente Kurucz (teacher: István Varga) and Dénes Antós (teachers: Csaba Pálfi and István Varga) were awarded the special prize from Béla Kovács for the best performance of his works.

The special awards of the Buffet-Rosé company went to Alessandro Beverari and Liszt academy student Máté Tóth (teacher: Zsolt Szatmári), the best Hungarian competitor in their ranking.

The most successful Hungarian participant, Dénes Antós received the special award of the Philharmonia Hungary Nonprofit Ltd.

The special award of the Vandoren company was presented to Damien Bachmann and Mikhail Mering.

The special award of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music was won by Damien Bachmann and Mikhail Mering.
