Liszt Academy Students Awarded in Dolny Kubin

Dániel Bögös won first place and Bálint Bress second place in the guitar category at the Ivan Ballu International Music Festival organized for the 20th time in Dolny Kubin, Slovakia.

The international music competition held between 19 and 22 May 2015 in Dolny Kubin of Northern Slovakia received about 150 participants in the categories piano, guitar and violin. Born in Eger, the first prize winner Dániel Bögös, aged 22, began his musical studies on the flute and the zither, and then switched to the guitar at the age of 12. After graduating from the Béla Bartók Secondary School for Music in Miskolc, he currently studies under József Eötvös at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Second prize winner Bálint Bress, also a student of József Eötvös in the Liszt Academy’s MA program, was awarded the Bank of China Scholarship in May 2015.
