Baroque master class by Balázs Máté

Renowned baroque cellist Máté Balázs is holding a cello master course entitled “Cello music in the 18th Century, with special emphasis on J.S Bach's suites and C.P.E. Bach's concertos".

 The course is open for all interested, as passive participants. Liszt Academy students may apply as active participants.
Participation is free of charge for all applicants, but previous registration is necessary.

Balázs Máté was born in Budapest, studied at the Music Academy „Franz Liszt“ in Budapest and with Jaap ter Linden in Den Haag.

As Solo-cellist of Les Musiciens du Louvre (M. Minkowski), Wiener Akademie (M. Haselböck), Le Concert des Nations (J. Savall) and chamber musician & soloist ensembles like the The Rare Fruits Council, the  Austrian Baroque Company, the The Rare Fruits Council, his own baroque orchestra Aura Musicale and the Quartetto Luigi Tomasini. Major CD-recordings covering all of J.S.Bach's cello suites, the cello concerts of C.P.E Bach as well as world premieres.
Balázs Máté was recently appointed to the coveted position of Professor for Baroque Cello and Period Instrument Performance at the Leipzig Hochschule für Musik. Additionally he has taught at the Budapest Conservatory and has lead master classes in Austria, at the conservatory in Sao Paulo, Brazil and for the European Union Baroque Orchestra.
Solo-appearances in Europe, Japan, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.
