Kinga Várallyay, PhD candidate, wins Italian competition

The 1st year doctoral candidate of piano studies was one of the three winners of the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival competition in Lucca.

The international event included a master class, and three instrumentalists including Kinga Várallyay were awarded prizes, the other two being cellist Balázs Dolfin, a former student of the Liszt Academy, and Polish violinist Adam Sauska.

The prizes include a concert with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at the Berlin Philharmonie, with the NOW – Nova Orchester Wien at the Musikverein and/or Konzerthaus in Vienna or with the Orchestra della Toscana at a renowned theatre such as the Teatro Verdi in Florence. It will be announced later which opportunity the winners are awarded.
