Prizes in the competition, which is organized every other year in commemoration of the birthday of Béla Bartók (25 March) in the Hungarian city closest to his birthplace, Nagyszentmiklós (today, Sânnicolau Mare, Romania), were presented in Szeged on 29 March 2014. The first prize, and the special prize for the best performance of a compulsory piece, went to 27-year-old Marcell Szabó, who graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music as the student of György Nádor and András Kemenes two years ago. Second place was taken by Mónika Ruth Vida – student of the Special School for Young Talents of the Liszt Academy – and third place was split between Krisztián Kocsis and István Vass, who finished the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 2012.

Congratulations to the prizewinners and their teachers!
