Our teachers and students have achieved outstanding results at the Generace Composition Competition

24 April 2020

At the competition for composers under the age of 31, the Hungarian jury member was László Tihanyi, and the other members of the jury were Milan Báchorek, Ivan Kurz, Hanuš Bartoň and Vít Zouhar from Czechia, Alexander Lasoń from Poland, and Yevgeny Iršai from Poland.

Many young artists applied for the competition in early April this year, and a total of 64 compositions were submitted. After the submissions were scored by the jury, the final ranking in each category was announced. Two lecturers from the Liszt Academy won prizes in the category of composers under 31: Balázs D. Kecskés won first prize with his work Komm, and Máté Balogh won third prize with Bahnmusik. András Gelléri (MA in composition, 2nd year, Péter Tornyai's student) received praise for his composition titled Burst of Evidence.
