Bassoon

Requirements

For a grade 5, at least one piece has to be played from memory.

BA Diploma concert

Three pieces or movements of different styles, one which may be a chamber music piece.

Length: minimum of 30 minutes, maximum of 45 minutes without intermission

MA Diploma Concert

Three pieces of different styles and one chamber music piece with the size of an entire concert

At most, it may be one and a half hour with intermission.

 

Trombone

BA Diploma Concert

Three pieces or part of a piece of different styles, one of which must be played from memory, as well as one chamber music piece or a movement from one.

MA Diploma Concert

Three concertos or poeces of different styles, one of which must be played from memory, and one chamber music piece in which the student must partake in a major role.

 

Horn

BA Diploma Concert

One piece or concerto chosen by the student from memory, and two other performance pieces (one of these may also be a performance piece), including several styles - especially considering the pieces of contemporary Hungarian and other composers -, as well as one chamber music piece in which the student preferably takes a leading part.

Maximum length: 45 minutes

MA Diploma Concert

A significant concert piece from memory and two other performance pieces (one of which may also be a concert piece), including several styles - especially considering the pieces of contemporary Hungarian and other composers -, as well as one chamber music piece in which the student preferably takes a leading part.

 

Saxophone

BA Diploma Concert

One or two solo or piano accompaniment piece acquired during the 5th and 6th semester, one of which must be played from memory, and one chamber music piece. The length of the diploma concert is around 30 minutes.

MA Diploma Concert

  • Two or three original saxophone compositions (it may be a concerto, sonata or a performance piece that constitutes the core of the saxophone repertoire chosen by the student).
  • Transcription of a baroque or romantic piece (optional).
  • One 20th or 21st century solo or accompanied piece, which also contains extended techniques.
  • One chamber music piece.

One of the pieces must be played from memory.

The length of the diploma concert is around 60 minutes.

 

Tuba

BA Diploma Concert

  • A baroque, classical or romantic sonata or two contrasting movements of a concerto.  
  • One modern or contemporary character piece, or sonata, or movement of a concerto.
  • One chamber music piece (at least a trio, at maximum a nonet).

MA Diploma Concert

  • An entire baroque, classical or romantic sonata or concerto.
  • One modern or contemporary sonata or concerto.
  • One chamber music piece (at least a trio, at maximum a nonet).

 

Clarinet

BA Diploma Concert

  • the first movement of a conerto chosen by the student, from memory
  • one sonata or sonata movement(s) chosen by the student
  • one movement or movements of a chamber music piece chosen by the student
  • one 20th century or contemporary piece chosen by the student

The pieces must include at least three different music history eras.

Length: min. 30 minutes, max. 40 minutes

Using sheet music where it is compulsory to play from memory results in the reduction of the grade by one.

MA Diploma Concert

  • one entire concerto chosen by the student, from memory
  • one entire sonata chosen by the student
  • one entire chamber music piece chosen by the student
  • one 20th century or contamporary virtuoso or solo piece chosen by the candidate

The pieces must include at least three different music history eras.

Length: at least one hour with intermission.

Using sheet music where it is compulsory to play from memory results in the reduction of the grade by one.

 

Oboe

For receiving a gade five it is compulsory to play at least one piece from memory.

Three pieces, part of a piece or movement of different styles, one of which can be a chamber music piece. 

Length: minimum of 30 minutes, maximum of 45 minutes, no intermission.

MA Diploma Concert

Three pieces of differenty styles and one chamber music piece, with the length of entire concert.

Length: approx. 60 minutes, maximum of one and a half hour with intermission.

Three performance pieces of parts of pieces of different styles, one of which must be played from memory, and one chamber music piece.

MA Diploma Concert

Three performances pieces of different styles, one of which must be played from memory, and one chamber music piece.

 

Percussion

BA Diploma Concert

At least three pieces of different styles, approx. 40 minutes in length. The chosen programme should preferably contain a chamber music piece as well.

MA Diploma Concert

At least three pieces of different styles, approx. 60 minutes in length. The chosen programme should preferably contain a chamber music piece as well.
