We would like to inform our audience that according to the government decision effective from 11 November 2020, no public events can be held, so we are unable to hold concerts at the Liszt Academy with an audience. However, our audience will not be left without a concert experience, as most of our performances will be held and broadcast online in our Digital Concert Hall, and most of the concerts of the orchestras organizing concert series at the Liszt Academy will also be available online.

Julia Lezhneva needs no introduction to enthusiasts of early music – over the past few years, we in Budapest have had several opportunities to marvel at her crystal-clear, silky voice, magnificent coloratura and richly emotional expressiveness. The fairy tale-like career of the Russian soprano started just ten years ago, in 2010, when Kiri Te Kanawa invited her to appear and she took a sensational win in the Royal Albert Hall in London at the Classical Brit Awards. This time, the singer – who is in her early thirties – arrives at the Liszt Academy with Venice Baroque Orchestra, masters of the 17-18th century repertoire. They are conducted by Andrea Marcon, the founding harpsichordist-musicologist. The core of the programme is made up of arias by Vivaldi and Händel, including Vivaldi concertos in a glorious production featuring instrumental soloists of the ensemble.
