The Academy of Music has maintained excellent relations with Japan for many decades. Numerous Japanese artists have graduated from the university, and even today there is a remarkably high number of Japanese students who are committed to fostering Japanese-Hungarian cultural relations through their talent and diligence. Just as Hungary celebrates Culture Day on January 22, Japan celebrates it on November 3. On this day, various cultural, scientific, and educational events are held throughout the country. The Academy of Music is also joining in the series of Culture Day events: chamber groups made up of the most outstanding Japanese students will give a concert in the Solti Hall of the Academy. It is no coincidence that chamber music was chosen, as this genre is one of the most sophisticated forms of ensemble playing and artistic collaboration, a true musical team effort. In addition to well-known classical pieces, the audience will also be able to enjoy Japanese contemporary pieces performed by young Japanese artists during the evening.
