Studies: He received his degree at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1968.

1969: He is one of the founders of the Kodály Musical Training Institute (Boston, Massachusetts, USA)
1973- Teacher of Choir Conducting at Franz Liszt Academy of Music
1974-2008: Director of Zoltán Kodály Institute of Music Pedagogy, Kecskemét (since 2005 part of Franz Liszt Academy of Music)

Visiting Professor of the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music
 
Choir conducting activities:
1983-1985, 1998-2005: Principal Choir Conductor of the Debrecen Kodály Choir
2000: Choir Conductor of the World Youth Choir
1990-1992: Artistic Director and later Guest Conductor of the Choir of the Hungarian Radio
1976-2006: Choir conductor of the Kecskemét Teachers' Choir
