Liszt Academy Students in the Final of the ICA Young Artist Competition

Since its founding in 1973, the International Clarinet Association (ICA) has annually organized the Young Artist Competition for clarinetists under the age of 27. The applicants had to submit a recording containing the performance of three works, which the jury judged with no knowledge of the contestant’s identity; thus, the 10 best candidates have been selected solely on the basis of their audio material. The final will take place at the 2015 ClarinetFest in Madrid between 22 and 26 July. The three finalists are all students of István Varga at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, and their coach is Hilda Hernádi.
