Zsolt Kaltenecker’s musical interests are quite diverse: elements of jazz, electronic music, rock and progressive metal are all important in his compositions. His playing, which is instantly recognisable, is often based on the complete independence of the two hands. He creates unique, multi-layered timbres on electric keyboard instruments. He has released more than 15 of his own albums and has performed throughout Europe, as well as in Japan and the USA. In 1999 he won the Gramophone “Jazz Album of the Year” with Songs From the 20th Century, in 2009 he was awarded the Artisjus Prize for his work and in 2020 he was the winner of the Müpa Prize (Composition Competition).
