Signing-up for exams

It is each student’s individual responsibility to register for exams in the NEPTUN system for every class which is to be completed with an exam based on the curriculum (please check the curriculum which corresponds to your study programme).

If a student does not register for an exam, their name will not appear on the professor’s exam sheet. Students’ names on the exam sheet are an indication for the professor as to which students want to participate in the exam. In case students do not register for an exam, it means that they do not wish to participate in the exam. In case of not registering for an exam, it is not possible to receive a grade, even if the student shows for the exam. Please register for exams that need to be completed, otherwise the administrator will not be able to enter grades.

Please check your curriculum and verify which subjects are to be completed with an exam (“E” in the curriculum) and which semester grade (“SG” in the curriculum) in this semester (including main subjects as well), and start planning your exam period as soon as possible by registering for the exams in NEPTUN.

We would like to call your attention to the fact that only those subjects are available for exam registration, which were registered in the beginning of the semester. It is also important to note that comprehensive exams (szigorlat) are also exams, so registering for comprehensive exams is also necessary.

Exams with several dates might have a limited capacity for each date (how many people can participate at maximum). In case of these exams it is possible that one occasion becomes full and it is not possible to register anymore.

Please note that registering for an exam will be closed 72 hours before the start of the exam and the professor in charge may refuse to allow the student to take the exam or announce a new exam date. You can find the exam dates in Neptun.

For further information regarding the technical aspect of registering for exams in the NEPTUN system, please see the NEPTUN guide on our website here.

In summary:

  1. Check your curriculum which registered subjects are to be completed with an exam (indicated with an ‘E’ in the curriculum)
  2. Check available exam time(s) for each one of your ‘E’ subjects.
  3. Register for your exams in Neptun (at least 72 hours prior to the start of the exam)

You can pay for library fees until 9 June 2023. Graduating students can only receive their diploma if they have no debt to the Academy. Submitting the “Settlement form” is possible from 30 May 2023 until 10 June 2023. You can find the “Settlement form” in NEPTUN under Administration->Requests->Settlement form.

The Closing and Graduation Ceremonies will take place on 1 July 2023 in the Grand Hall of the Main Building. We kindly ask all graduating students to inform their Study Administrator, if they do not wish to participate in the Graduation Ceremony.
