A violinist of universal talent, Maxim Vengerov is one of the most outstanding musicians of our time. Tireless in his search for new means of creative expression, he enjoys international acclaim as a musician of the highest order. In addition to playing the violin, he also conducts and teaches. In the past two years he has appeared in concert with various orchestras in Munich, Paris, and at the Geneva Paleo Festival, conducting and/or playing solo parts. He likes to assume the roles of conductor and soloist simultaneously, and it was in these capacities that in November 2013 he performed Mozart and Tchaikovsky compositions in the company of the Polish Chamber Orchestra at the London Barbican Centre. “[H]is technique [was] never less than faultless,” wrote a reviewer of the London concert, “his golden tone consistently sweet and mellifluous, even in the chattering brilliance of Tchaikovsky’s Valse-Scherzo.”
