The chamber music genre is highly intimate and yet at the same time it probably presents a greater challenge for the performer than even a soloist role. Musicians have to delicately combine the coordinated tuning of orchestral play and the striving for emotional and technical perfectionism of solo play. The performers in this concert are talented young musicians who, although at the beginning of their careers, already possess the knowledge and experience necessary for an entire evening of chamber music. In 2013, Ildikó Szabó was awarded the Junior Prima Prize, she released her first solo album at the age of 14, and currently she holds 16 international prizes, including the 2014, massively prestigious Pablo Casals Competition, where she picked up second place, an audience prize and a further seven other awards. Domonkos Csabay graduated from the Liszt Academy in 2014, but he has also studied as a guest student at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He has appeared on stage in several festivals such as Musica Mundi in Brussels, Lancaster Piano Festival, Pennsylvania and International Holland Music Sessions. Competition successes include first prize at Leo Weiner International Chamber Music Competition in 2013 Budapest with violinist Bálint Kruppa, in 2016 he was awarded as a piano accompanist at Wales International Piano Festival, and won first prize at Amy Brant International Piano Competition Birmingham. In the same year he was a ‘Junior Prima’ Award and Fischer Annie Scholarship winner as well. Their joint programme spans the ages from the early 1800s to the second half of the 20th century.
