Is the human oral cavity, or the throat, or maybe the vocal chords, a musical instrument? Or perhaps all of these together? And if so, how do they work, does the potential of being a musician lie in us all (even without any instrumental knowledge), and what are we capable of doing if we submit this treasure of ours to extended training? The final concert in the spring series of the Liszt Kidz Academy seeks answers to these questions by showing the human voice in operation in the classical repertoire, in folk music and in jazz. The different vocal traditions are presented by the best students of the Liszt Academy and Gergely Fazekas, teacher of music history at the university, is our guide on this virtual tour during which we discover the extreme diversity and scale of the human voice.
