The ARC Ensemble (Artists of The Royal Conservatory) are considered one of Canada’s preeminent cultural ambassadors. As a research centre of chamber music, they have been particularly highly praised for their work of rediscovering forgotten composers of the 20th century. Their Music in Exile series, begun in 2006, is dedicated to the works of composers who were persecuted or forced into exile during the Second World War. When the ARC Ensemble visited Budapest a few years ago, they introduced Hungarian concertgoers to the work of two Polish-born composers, Szymon Laks and Mieczysław Weinberg.
