Concerto Budapest

Conductor: András Keller
Russian artist Yevgeny Korolyov, considered to be among the most talented Bach interpreters of our day, begins the concert with Bach’s keyboard concerto in D minor, which is thought to be based on a now lost violin concerto. The significance of his Bach playing is perhaps best indicated by mentioning György Ligeti’s comment that he would take one of the Bach recordings by Korolyov if stranded on a desert island. The Budapest audience can also listen to another piano concerto with solo by the 64-year-old Korolyov, more precisely the Piano Concerto in C minor (1785) by Mozart. The concert also features Beethoven's Great Fugue and Symphony No. 4.
